Experts say the lost amount can ensure uninterrupted power 24 hours a day to every citizen in Africa for 3 years. In Nigeria, the government’s aspiration to lift more than 100 million citizens out of poverty in the next 10 years may remain a mirage unless it tackles corruption seriously. In line with its stated mission of “communicating innovative and peaceful solutions to global challenges,” the Center for Media & Peace Initiatives (CMPI) New York – a media and policy think tank in special consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council and affiliated with Rutgers University’s School of Public Affairs and Administration convened the 2021 Public Lecture to shed a spotlight on anti-corruption measures in Africa.
